A seed-stage AI startup is hiring a Founding Software Engineer to help build and scale AI chat and voice products from the ground up. Youll work directly with the founders to ship end-to-end features across backend (Python/Django) and frontend (Next.js/React/ShadCN), while contributing to core architecture and infrastructure decisions.


This role is ideal for builders with startup experience who want to work with speed, ownership, and high product leverage in a fast-paced, in-person team.


What theyre looking for:

  • 35 years of full-time engineering experience
  • Strong backend skills in Python (Django preferred)
  • Proficient in Next.js, React, and ShadCN
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and scalable systems
  • Degree from a top 40 U.S. university with GPA 3.9
  • Bonus: prior founder, startup veteran, or ex-quant engineer


Bonus skills:

  • Experience building LLM features or machine learning infrastructure
  • Background in applied math, EECS, or CS/math double majors
  • Shipped zero-to-one products end-to-end
  • Strong live-coding and problem-solving under pressure
  • Preference for high-ownership IC roles over management
  • Willing to work in-person in SF 5 days/week
